Can't edit my previous post, but I think it is apparent that my fuzz knob is wired in backwards still  :icon_redface:
thanks for the pix and ideas!!!

rove

I just rewired the fuzz pot to go in the right direction and went ahead and added a 5k starve pot, which really does sound great and add more to the versatility of the effect.  Would you mind explaining the way you rewired the switch into a knob? what value pot, for example.  I think that a knob to go from one extreme to the other would be far more useful (and thus used) than the current switch, though I had considered using a stompswith to go from one to the other...
meanwhile I'll see if I can't dig up the mod you did somewhere on the forum.
Again, I am super happy with this pedal thanks for sharing the layout.

Ok, a little research yielded the following info:
placing a 50k pot between the .1 cap to ground and ground wired as a variable resistor will give the blend between the notch mode and full mode.
Thanks Slacker and Mark Hammer.
I have implemented this and it works except I need to use a linear pot as the log  I used for test purposes bunches a lot of the change at one end, as one would expect.

does anyone know why unicords schematics dont show polarized caps?

It's in my gallery, if you follow the layout gallery link and then search for slacker you should find it. I would post a link but I can't figure out how to do that using tapatalk.

I think I may help you - here's what I have done some times ago for my daughter which wanted a SuperFuzz, and it works +++ :

Sorry - some comments are in French !

A+!
I apologize for my approximative english writing and understanding !

You solder the components on top of the copper tracing side? I've never seen anyone do that before. Any particular reason?

Well, I felt it was more easy to avoid placement errors, as the circuit is let flat on the table and in direct correspondence with the layout drawing... Nonetheless I use the classic method also, which is more easy to solder.

slacker,

1 - your layout is more compact than the one I used +++

2 - which software you used to design this layout ? It seems even better than DIY Layout Creator...

Thanks & A+!

I just use a graphics program, I have a large image of the veroboard and the components are in a gif image with a transparent background. To make the layouts you just copy and paste the components on to the veroboard image.

Here's the images if you want to give it a try.

I use the same method as Slacker, however I use the templates from Dragonfly in the gallery:

Thanks slacker and cab42,

In fact, what you use is purely "manual drawing" method - I though you were using a dedicated software...

Nonetheless good idea, applicable on word, publisher, powerpoint or so, I presume.

I use Paint for the task. Lightweight, easy to use and available on any Windows PC (even at work :icon_wink:) .

Last week I made my first schematic from scratch using the same approach with symbol templates I found here and on GGG.
