I built this pedal not so much because it's a fun, quick build that sounds good but so that I could try out my new labeler.  My wife hooked me up a Brother P-Touch for my birthday and I HAD to try it out.  Someone some time ago suggested that you use TZ type labels for pedals and I've got to say +1 on that.

And yes, I've started labeling everything in the house.  A place for everything, and everything in its place.

I have have a few laser labellers for various things including labelling one off pedals. They hold up well to wear. I've been talking about them for awhile now.

All my labellers have a label on them that says "Labeller". :)

Hiwatt, you probably know this but it stands to mention that
the Brother labelers also have clear tape with black lettering cartridge.
It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.

Not too mention white text on black background.

i like the older style:

Older = Better mojo. ;) Actually I do have concerns with that type when it comes to gig wear. For bedroom stuff it works well enough.

I think I paid 200 bucks for my labler back in 1998.

Now I see them for $30!

One day I'm going to make a router table and rout a strip
across the top of a box just the right size for my brother lables.
You know to recess them flush.

Haven't seen that done yet.

Go to a "hobby" store and buy some "Lettraset" rub on decals.
After box is painted, line the individual letters up, rub on with a soft pencil
and they stick ... take your time.
Then clearcoat after, quick and multiple thin coats .... DONE !!
Available in Black/White/Gold and possibly a few other colours, also various
styles and sizes.
Around £1 ( 1 buck 50 ) per sheet.

Chuck

I used an Alps MD1000.  It prints white, silver and gold spot color.

But then I'm addicted also.

You can print white lettered decals?

Chuck

#16
Yes, its dye sublimation and prints white on clear stock.
It also has some cool metalic reds, silver, gold.
You can find them and a newer model on ebay.

Check out the silver lettering on clear decals on this blue fx switcher.

Its sitting right above an open pedal drawer.
Those are 12pt arial bold.

Lately I've been playing with midi controlled potentiometers so I can use a pic processor to control an analog delay.

Yeah those sublimation printers are fun. Some laser labellers have black background with white text available. Even some metallic looking labels.

Hey Chuck....
Ummmm,
Is that a ROSS Compressor you have there in that pic??

Chuck

Yes it is an original Ross compressor.
The light blue pedal you can barely see on the left is a Tycobrahe Octavia.
