Hi
I grabbed a few 50c wall-warts from the bargain bin at the local charity shop today.
(I re-wind them, but that's another story).

I saw a couple of high-capacity switchmode units (12V 1.5A) and figured I could use them with some filtering.  Maybe for a small amp.
Has anyone else used switchmode wall-warts, and how much filtering has been needed?  I thought I'd start with 100uF, but maybe I'll need more if I want to draw some solid current.
cheers

If they are 12v you can stick that into a 9v regulator and filter it. You still may have noise issues especially if you don't handle your grounds well enough. Otherwise you should be good.

Thanks.
Yeah. A 1 to 1.5A regulator (LM317 with a big heatsink?) should do the trick.

That 100uF in the original post was supposed to be *1000* uF. :icon_redface:  I'm not that silly (despite what my girlfriend says)
