Great stuff everyone! I think one of the criteria should be the easy of which the logo can be displayed in black and white. With that in mind those with full colour logos may also want try to make a B&W version so see how the logo would translate.

Those black and white ones could be etched nicely onto enclosures too.

That was what I was thinking. Screen printing, t-shirts, stickers, fridge magnets, coffee cups, beer coasters, etc. would be much cheaper and easy to get done.

usually it's better to have a vector based logo for that, flat colors (no shading or texture) and 3 colors max...

i did a t-shirt job recently for the french adaptation of the british serie "The Office" for french canada. in french the show is called "La Job" ...slang for, you guessed it... The Job...

I'd leave the border on. It defines the space.
