I just built myself a turbo/RAT (switch between the two sets of clippers) using the LM308N (8pin dip, not the metal can). It was $4USD from www.smallbearelec.com, which I'm sure many here are familiar with.  The metal can version is a whopping 50 cents more. I know it's almost 10 times more than most popular opamps, but hey, it's still only $4...

I still think they are sort of jerking folks around by having 3 different pedals instead of a 3 way switch.  IIRC someone mentioned the op amp in the newer models, but I don't remember where.
