Greetings all, from the token female from what I can establish.  ::)

I have a cache of 50 CD4049UBE, and I am looking to utilising some. My research here and on other sites indicates that the following effect circuits use this IC

Anderton TSF
49er
22 7ths
Hot Harmonics
Red Llama
UbeScreamer
3 Legged Dog
Double D
Mr EQ
Ultraflanger
Zombie Chorus
Insanity Box (a good description...   :icon_rolleyes: )

Other circuits have tried but have not been good.

Have I missed any working ones?  ???  I did take notes but I am sure that I missed up some. Are there any others that this chip could drop into ?

I did search here and the layouts folders. Some were about switching with the IC. So I did try.

Many thank yous. Let the games and fun begin.

I'm not sure about how different they are but the MXR Envelope Filter uses CD4069 inverters

Thanks!  I have a crapload of these too and have been looking for cool things to use these for.  Breadboard, here I come  :icon_twisted:

There is also the MXR Hot Tubes, schem at Experimentalists Anaonymous, although the note reads it have a lot to do with the TSF. I don't know if that counts.

Oh! and Tim Escobedo's Cmos Drive, and Cmos Boost(built that one, it's great, and like 5 parts).

Edit- oh jeez, and his Ghost Dance and Calavera. They don't mention the 4049, but the cmos boost works fine with it, and I'm sure the others will also, just check the pinouts.

I found this on the net quite awhile ago;

I built that in 1982 or so, and it works as described, but it's a little on the noisy side.  Might work a little better with certain components (semiconductors) chosen for noise specs, since the 4049 serves only as a voltage-controlled resistor.

While we're at it, the ETI 6-stage phaser from the same era uses a 4049 as votlage-controlled resistive elements instead of FETs.

Bad Stone uses a 4009 which is a 4049 direct replacement.

Thank you everybody! I will be busy for a while, for sure. ;D
