MicroSynth weirdness!

OK, here it is!

I recently modded my Microsynth into something more; I choose to power the Micro Synth with a 9V input and work this 9V up to 24V, the voltage of the DC adapter I got.

Now I've done this it works just great! No problems as yet; then I wanted to add antoher pedal to the chain as fed with the same adapter and this is where the weirdness enters;

Now instead of working the unit won't turn on at all; if I remove the other pedal from the chain I get it to turn on again. If I use seperate PSU's I get the unit to function properly

So I guessed it was a grounding problem; tried to ground the enclosure on the ground of the PSU and now it works but it is way louder...............

Any thoughts on how I can eliminate this? Still grounding the unit on the same spot it was grounded before?

sounds more like your DC adaptor doesn't give enough Amps so when the MS is pluged it might barely get enough Amps but if you plug another effect it's too much and the MS shuts down....  how many Amps is you 9V DC adaptor?

it is a DC brick.........

The original PSU was limited to 100mA; DC brick should be 1000mA

It is not power as I can power multiple pedals next to it; simply when I plug in the patch cable it cuts out!

Could it be due to the fact that this ground is not created by the PSU but by the voltage regulator?

Absolutely. Lucky that nothing is fried!!!

Is there a way to make it usuable to work on the same adapter with other pedals?
