Internal shields in 6AL5 tubes? Sent to ground?

Hey,

I'm in the process of wiring up a 6AL5 tube as a pair of diodes, but i wanted to double check I was wiring the plates properly before I blew anything to pieces. I've only used a tube once before, then it was a 12AX7 which I managed to get working fine as a clipping pair (albeit a noisy one, I think because I was running the V+ to pins 4 and 5 in unshielded wire right next to the wires carrying the signal?)

If I'm using a 9v source, do I send the V+ through a 10 ohm resistor (to get 6v) to pins 3 and 4 and connect the internal shield (pin 6) to ground? Or is pin 3/4 sent to ground and the V+ sent to the other pin? In which case, where does the Internal shield go?

Here is the data sheet for the 6AL5: http://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/093/6/6AL5.pdf, i've searched here and on google for wiring instructions for the tube but i've come up with nothing to inspire confidence in me, figured someone here would likely know in a flash and save me doing any damage.

Many thanks,

Adam.

Yes, Pin 6 must go to ground. Pin 3 must go through a 1W 10 Ohm resistor to 9V. Pin 4 must go to ground.
