18 months ago I made a vero layout for Tim Escobedos Phuncgnosis.

Build it twice and even one time more on perf. I also tested different Opamps. It quacked allright, but distorted very badly. I ended up asking for help here, but no luck.

A few weeks ago I took the board out from the drawer where it had been hidden and it ocurred to me that I that I had recycled several components between the three builds.

I then tried to build a new one with fresh components on a breadboard and it worked!!!! I then build it again using my vero layout and now it sounds exactly as it should.

Sounds great, I use it for everything. I started playing with some guys from work. They already hate it  8)

Here it is, fresh from the gallery, now verified:

I have no idea what went wrong in the first build. In the present build I used a TL072, but in the original I tried several TL062 and 4558.

I have managed to stuff it into a box of size 7*4 cm, nice and compact

Best regards

Carsten

nice job, way to stick w/ it!  I never could get my build to work... :icon_redface:

That's funny, I recently took out my non-phunctioning Phuncgnosis that I built on perf a long time ago, and found the problem almost immediately. I had drawn up my own perf layout, and it turned out that I had screwed up in the voltage divider. Naturally, it has to be the simplest part of the circuit  :icon_rolleyes: Back when I built it I swear I spent hours comparing the schematic and the layout, but I couldn't see anything wrong. Still have to try different op-amps, but at least the mystery is solved!

Phun circuit, recommended (sorry, couldn't resist).

Nice work Gents.
Been there before.....doubtless will be there again.  :-[

Thanks for the kind words.

You can make the layout one column shorter if you move the jumper in column 3 (from the the right) to column 12 (also from the right) so it runs under the IC.

Mac posted a suggestion on how to get more control over the quack, by adding another pot. I think I'll try that.
