Hi people, just thought I'd post a picture and mp3 sample of my tubescreamer I just built, your comments are welcome...

An MP3 can be heard here ---->  http://www.airraid.info/kbdir/mytube.mp3

Notes about sample: I recorded it through my Line6 GuitarPort with just the Class A- 30 Top boost head and no effects bar a little reverb...

apart from the odd dodgy flat bend, thats a pretty amazing hendrix impersonation you've got going there.

I have the guitarport too, but have never plugged a pedal into it.  Does it work fine?

Yes it's fine, listen to the MP3 sample I posted, you can hear it on that...

What are all the controls?  Seems like you added some stuff?  Boost maybe?

Yes, standard Drive, Tone and Level controls at the top, there's a boost switch on the left hand side that switches the 4.7k resistor out and I wired a 4.7k pot in to adjust the boost amount. Also the DPDT toggle switch selects between the standard 0.047uF cap and a 0.22uF cap. All in all I'm really happy with it considering it was my 3rd build.

Sounds bright, but in a GOOD way. Fat too. Are those ge diodes in there?

Yes it is bright, I followed the Tonepad PCB but had to sub parts because of availability. Instead of 510k resistors, I used 470k, 47k instead of 51k resistors, 47pF instead of 51pF capacitor. The Diodes are 1N914. The Strat I'm playing through is a 2005 USA Standard and I fitted Kinman woodstock pickups. These pickups are great and I think it contributes well to the tone of a Strat.
