Dry/Wet outputs? Would this setup work?

I doctored AC's layout, hope he doesnt mind. Just a quick bodge-up so you can see what I mean?

My main concerns are, will I get hum from the inactive channel? As though a lead is not connected? There will now be an empty pole on the 3pdt? will I need to short this to ground to prevent hum, or will I not get any?

Any other things I should look out for?

If you were to use, for the "second channel", a jack with a normally closed contact (Switchcraft 12A) you could ground the unused channel at the jack.

I don't imagine you'd get hum from the inactive "bypass" jack if there is nothing high gain ahead of it.  If you get hum coming out of the distortion plus w/o any input, I suppose you could use the extra lug on the switch there to ground the output of Dist + when it's bypassed, that should kill any noise from there.

So it would work then?

I was also thinking of using a spdt toggle switch for switching between a normal in/out set-up and the dual wet/dry outputs... would I need to consider anything with this... it all seems pretty straight forward...

I dont think I need a normally closed jack, because there will be jack plugs in the sockets at all times, thus closing the connection? or do they work some other way? Please explain, I've not used switchable jacks before...
