Hi,

I recieved a fried ts-9, rebuilt it from all the exact parts (small bear). New fets, trannies, electros, op-amp. Had a bypass problem, fixed it with the sd-1 bypass fix (analogguru, THanks for the help Markm!), worked like a charm, much to my surprize! Just for fun, did a "more gain" mod, 4.7k dropped to 2.2K put the .047 up to .1 for more bass, same tone response. Put in a 1n4001 in place of one of the 914/4148 diodes for uneven clip.

Sounds fantastic. one prob: when the volume is at almost max or max. I get a loud "squak!" when I hit the pedal. The pitch of the squak will change with the drive setting and tone settings.

Again, this only happens with the volume maxed, and I never use a TS with the vol maxed. But after all my work, it just bugs the piss outta me that its there!

Could it be the "more gain" mod? Anyone else have this happen?

thanks,

Chuck

Yeah, sounds like it's the gain. Try a 3.3k...

too much gain..probably self-oscillating.  Go with the new resistor.
