Hi how are you all?

Has anyone seen the inside of the new "slash Wah"?
can we mod a standard dunlop wah to a slash?

Hope to hear from u all

well...here are some options...

external q, gain/bass, volume controls,

Q at max 100k, gain/bass around 350 ohms, and volume dimed...

sweep cap at .012 (or .01 for a bit more high end clarity)

run it at higher voltages. the 4.7uF? make it around 16uF. (ive got 10uF in my wahs...makes for a clearer tone.)

red fasel inductor

dunlop magic mojo

and youre PRETTY DAMN close...otherwise, buy a slash wah.
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

^ Dr. Wah has spoken!

PS: Not to hijack, but I tried 2N5088's in the wah pedal like you recommended for a modern sound, and with that combined with a Hot Potz its made a big improvement towards a modern-sounding wah.  Thanks again.

The question is the Slash Wah one of those opamp type circuits with SMD PCBs similar to the Dimebag DB-02 model or if it's just a glorified GCB-95 CryBaby. If it's the latter, then it's quite possible.

if i remember correctly, it is opamp based. i cant remember too well...so dont quote me.

5089s will take it a BIT further. they add sort of more of "everything." more highs, lows, gain...more gain-more "range."

If I remember correctly Slash himself has stated that for the Slash's Snakepit second album je used a stock 535Q... most artist play a "stock" model that a marketing genius then re-labels as "signature"

The slash wah is a stock crybaby classic with some high gain distortion circuit in it. Even says so on the box. I worked at Guitar Center when these things were coming out and i was kinda dissapointed. The Slash wah needs 2 batteries one for the wah and one for the distortion circuit. Save your money and buy a used stock classic and put your choice of distortion with it! Seriously thje circuit really only succeeded in makin the wah a variable squeelin device.

I read in an recent interview that appart from amp and guitar he doesn't even care what effects he uses. He just takes what is available in the studio at the time...

To me all that signature stuff is nothing but a big marketing stunt
