Hi, i just bought stuff for my stratoblaster. The dude forgot to put the tranny into the bag :@ now i've gotta go just for that.. But.. there won't be any difference using 82ohm instead of 100ohm resistor right?? Im building the Stratoblaster(improved) at GGG.

Bye bye!

The stratoblaster is a very forgiving circuit.  None of the components values are critical.
It's cool.

Thanks brett!

Now I have to go 30min trip downown just to get one j201..  >:( And I'll have to do it because I want to play my guitar, and until that I won't be able to play it
Bye bye, thanks.

Don't we [some of us] know how that is...Sheeezsh...got 20 of 'em working to choose from, but until THIS one works, I just won't be right.
I am 'weak'...[ at least I admit it ], I should be able to focus after putting 'this' on the backburner but suffer from lack of attention span, my attention pulled toward the thing which should not be [not working].

I share that pete, indeed a lot.
My problem might be bigger.. is not that i want it to play. It's going right inside my stratocaster ;D. So it's indeed impossible until I have it. I'm not going to put all the strings calibrate, etc etc etc. and then tear all apart..

I have a lespaul my cousin never used and gave it to me.. he used it when he was 20 to 25 then abandoned musci for 3d art.. and it's mine now :p but i love my strato!!

BTW, where can i put the battery so it will be "accesible" for changing??(inside the strato)

Thanks a lot!

Do yourself a favour, get twenty. ;)

Jimbo, is what I did. I said one j201.. they didnt' have any J-FET at that house :-/

I went 10min trip to another one.

Hi, do you have j201'?.. let me check, i don't think so (shit shit shit i was saying)

yes.. ok give me twenty.. i have 16 give them all :P...

They're MPF102, he told me they were the same. Are they really the same?

I always regret not buying quantity.. i also bought wire i think 025. And i didn't want to spend all my dad's money.. so i bought just red.. went back to the truck and my dad told me: you should have bough at least 3 colors..
I thhink today I learned a lesson.

No. They're lower gain than j201. Should work fine though.

Ok ;) thanks once again.. you saved me dozen times meanderthal :D:D:D

Would there be a lot of gain difference between one and another? And.. it'll sound good with the mpf, or I need to change some resistor values'?

Thanks a lot

you could try putting the battery in the back compartment where the tremolo springs are. im not sure how much space is in tehre but it would be a lot easier to take that back cover off tahn the entire pickguard

QSQCaito

I'll try and play around with the battery to see where it fitts. I don't use the tremolo, so maybe thats an advantage.

Bye bye

thanks a lot

Both will give you well over unity gain. I'm no expert at biasing jfets, but the schematic I saw called for J201, 2N5457, or other jfet. MPF102 qualifies as 'other'...

thanks a lot meanderthal ;) If i have any problem I'll post it.

OT: Im running my bluesbreaker of a 9v battery measuring 2.2  can it be my MM wrong, or can it actually work out of 2.2v?
