Hello all, I have here a couple of funky metal cases that I'd like to use for custom effects, effect loop, and univibe type D.I.Y . Any ideas about using them?, they are all very sturdy and could withstand foot related injuries!.... here are a couple of pics!!..

I would really love to use these, maybe construct a pedalboard village with these as the funky buildings.....
Cheers !

well...

be creative, and figure out some bottoms for these suckers. i dont know about a univibe, but smaller builds, for sure...
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

Yeah, thanks!,  the largest one can accomodate the 4inch and so of the univibe clones PC board, Im not really familiar with the lightbulb technique in these vibe units, but I thought the opening on the top could have the bulb. For shure I want to build one univibe style pedal, yes there are some available for about 300 dollars, but I would love to build one and use this funky casing. As for the bottom, I have acsess to thin steel plates that can be roughly cut for me, I would have to "Dremel" the fine tuning..
Cheers

300 dollars is not cheap hahahaha...i think building it will cost around 30 bucks.

i advise most everyone from straying away from buying $300+ pedals, that are accessable to the DIY community...

ok, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

heres what i would do, personally.

i like your idea of having a little villiage of effects, but i dont think mounting a footswitch would be...well...practical, for alot of these things...err...what are they from?

how about some just have mini switches, and the larger ones have footswitches?

i suggest just buying a couple enclosures online...even if it means one giant one, i suggest it.

what builds, besides the univibe, do you have in mind? building the univibe (neovibe!!!!!!) isnt brain surgery, so...

Those are cool pieces. Must have been a movie projector?

I bet they would look great against plate, or even against some pretty wood.

Exaclty!, I wanted to sell the projector but found 2 examples of it in town for 60 dollars, and a couple on ebay for a bit more so I decided to give it another life. So far the dividends have been awsome... I found in there.... 1 Blackplate RCA 12ax7 and replaced the chinese version I had in my Performer 650. Then at the bottom were a mishmash of vintage caps and resistors, all point to point. One thing I could point out is that it was from Chicago, and I think that is significant. Chicago is where it all started and it is reflected in this setup. First of all, there are 5 types of different construction technique/method of capacitors, they tried all what the laws of physics permit/ or maybe it was just an availability issue, but they did try everything!. There were other tubes from tung sol and rca. Some Caps were of the wax/paper/oil type and I auditioned all the collection with my guitar setup so that the pups were wired strait to the volume pot.... these were great for the guitar but also in a wah mod...So anyway, what you see now are the covers used in constructing the projector!...

here are the caps
