This time i used perfboard in order to have more "liberty" for customization...

Now, it has four (selectable) inductors, a controlable treble bypass mod (really good), a mid switch and a Q control.

The inductors are: Fulltone, red Fasel, Banzai and yellow Fasel.
Q1 is a BC109 and Q2 is a BC107.
Input and .22uF caps are mallory 150 (love'em...), Q and treble bypass are Xicon polystyrene and the electro is a 4uF Sprague (i think).
WahPot is Fulltone, Q pot is Alpha, jacks are switchcraft, switch is carling. (usual stuff...)

Here are the closeups:

...i forgot to mention that i adore the way it sounds!!!!  :icon_mrgreen:

very very nice!

thats an old fulltone halo, no? never seen one with a base like that.

very clean build, impressive indeed.

why did you use such big .22 caps?
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

bancika

looks great, 4 inductors are maybe an overkill, but impressive anyway.
If you're making ultra-mega-giga-hyper versatile wah you should consider switchable caps.
Congrats
The new version of DIY Layout Creator is out, check it out here

Very nice looking indeed!

I've been modding my cb95, and right now it looks like hell inside! I think I'm goig to ditch the crappy pin header and solder right to the board, with properly run wire.
I bought a SP6T from smallbear for cap switching, but have yet to hook it up.

Has anyone tried to use 6 values of caps? Seems kinda overkill to me. I think I'd be fine with three, but maybe I'd be missing out?
I like amps etc.

check out the wah page, i think theres still the track of "sweep ranges"

That's really cool. I'm also curious as to why you didn't add a sweep cap switch as well... or is that in the works?

What does the trim pot control?

SO, which inductor is your favorite?

Thanks TBOM!

The base of the Fulltone is nothing more than a piece of perfboard i had to attach underneath, because i had a very serious problem with it. I had this inductor from "day 1" and i must have (de/re)soldered it a thousand times [always modding/searching for THE wah sound],
so the leads kinda fell off and i had to remove the old base and C A R E F U L L Y  attach new leads/base...

I came really close to destroying that precious coil, but in the end i did it!

The Huge caps are kinda my favourite, because i remember that i got the best tone with such caps in a previous "configuration"...

thanks bancika.

yeah, you could consider that an overkill, but what the hell? DIY also means CUSTOM and maybe OVERKILL!!!  :icon_mrgreen:

But, since every coil has it's own voice, it's really fun to switch and find what fills your soul at any time...

About the switchable caps, this was an earlier mod i tried (and i tried MANY) and i ended up using the stock value because that always sounded best to me.

Even all the caps that are on the pedal now, were tested one by one to find the "creme-de-la-creme" (can't really speak french...)

And since i have a "parked-wah" style pedal which i use as an extra resonance/clean boost, i made that one with switchable input+sweep caps.

Thanks!

I tried this once, but i found myself always using the stock value...

As i wrote above, the switchable sweep cap thing doesn't work for me.

About the tripots:
The blue one is for the gain of Q1 and the yellow one is for the treble bypass.

The Fulltone.

but i found both fasels very interesting, while the Banzai has it's own special "voice".
It's thinner sounding compared to the others, but with the extra mids it gets really good.
But even with the stock mids, this thin 70's porno-film wah_ing is good sometimes...  :D

I'm still in the process of discovering the "virtues" of the Fasels, so i'll get back with more on them sometime.

I would also like to try external magnetic interference on the inductors.

[NOT RECOMMENDED!!!]

Could you explain what the treble bypass mod is all about? I am very interessed in trying that out!  :D
