I am going to rebox my Vintage Rat http://www.happybob.com/rstrand/rat/rat_versions.htm and I would like to also add an LED. According to the linked site this version of the RAt is already true bypass, so I am thinking I can add a millenium bypass to the existing dpdt switch, wondering if anyone here has done this and has any pointers, otherwise I will report back with successes/failures.
thanks.

Although the Rat represents one of the best-case scenarios for using a Millenium Bypass, given the low cost of 3PDT switches these days, why not just use one of those for simplicity's sake?

Good point. Well the reason I would do it would be for educational purposes, having never implemented a millenium bypass before, and because I am out of 3PDT switches  :icon_redface:. Also I figure it is a best case scenario for such an add-on, as you said.
time to make an order...

If you can look at a rat II or turbo rat inside, they all use the same PCB, so the layout for their LED bypass (which is the precurser to the millenium bypass) is on the board already in your vintage rat.

I was wondering if that might be the case... I will try and find some pics of the inside of the turbo or the II.  Looking at my board there aren't any missing components (like  on my dunlop wah boards, empty pads for the buffer for ex), so I wonder if there is a spot where I could simply tap off the LED...
thanks.
