My friend just brought me his very old non-working micro amp.  It worked when the effect was on, but didn't send any signal when the effect was bypassed.  I quickly deduced with my DMM that it was the switch.  I said to him since I have to replace the switch anyway, why don't you let me convert it to trye bypass, because all I would have to do is change the type of switch, which is fubar anyway.  He says no, he wants to preserve the originality, and hopefully the value, of the pedal.  Whatever; his pedal.  So 2 questions:

1.  If the original switch is broken anyway, will it make a difference in the value of the pedal if I install a switch that is not the same type of switch that originally came with the pedal?

2.  Can anyone tell me the Mouser part, or a least the brand same, of one of those MXR style SPST footswitches.  I've been looking through the mouser catalog but there are only about 2,000 switches in there that fit the description, and that pdf catalog loads painfully slow.

....what you need is a SPDT switch if I'm not mistaken....there is a person on the Ebay who sells these by the name"garmopat" that removes them from pedals and replaces them with DPDT's and 3PDT's-and they are very affordable!...........dr :icon_wink:
