the sound file is very interesting.  it's certainly not a fuzz factory... does it sound like anything you've heard before?

JimRayden

Wild guess: a pimped up Uglyface?

"based on a design I found on the internets" certainly narrows it down  ;)
Yeah uglyface is a likely candicate.

Definitely sounds Uglyface-y, or possibly something from 4MS.

No. Hes dead. I heard it on the news recently.

Ok.
I know that he's always on Conan's show, and was quite recently. He must have passed in the past week, though I can't find an obituary.

Take care,

I am kidding. Its the running gag of him being dead. ;) Just having some fun.

Wasn't that ugly guy in some "Rat Pack" movies and The Godfather ??

the clip sounds a lot like an uglyface, especially the laser gun sounds at the start. It's got the same number of knobs and the uglyface is stupidly loud like he says his pedal is. Or it could be a crashsync which is very similar.

Also explains the "dead" gag I kidded with.

I knew that. ;)

It's an uglyface most likely.  That fellow was asking around here about them a while back.

hope he's kicking Tim Escobedo down a little scratch. His licensing fee is more than reasonable.

QuoteIt's a great design that uses your guitar to control an oscillator.

That suggests it's a modified Crash Sync to me. It sounds kind of like a Crash Snyc thru a wah pedal to my ears.

shadowmaster

It's a Crash Sync and implemented an Uglyface' sensitivity and threshold control to it. So it should not be Crash Sync nor Uglyface.

...should be more close to Autocrash.

ambulancevoice

For example, a "Late Night with David Letterman" skit showed Letterman trying to summon the ghost of Vigoda. Abe then walked in and declared, "I'm not dead, you idiot!"

He became well known from the 70's TV comedy series Barney Miller playing character Fish.  The title track is cool, cool bass and 70's 335 style guitar.
