I built a second EA trem that had depth problems so I took everything off of the board and replaced the old parts with new.  As far as the depth goes, I'm back in business but now I have a new problem.

Here is the layout that I'm working from.  http://aronnelson.com/gallery/album76/EA_Tremelo_LAYOUT

For some reason, when I turn the rate pot all the way up, the tremolo effect goes away totally.  I believe I've heard mention of this problem before so I have to ask.
1)Is that a common problem
2)Is there a common cure? Would changing the value of R10 help?

Thanks again.

Looking at the runoffgroove schem, I can only think that the trem stops when the pot is below a certain resistance. That 1K in series is a dead giveaway... somebody has noticed that something 'bad' happens when the resistance is too low. Exactly HOW low (and consequently how HIGH the lfo freq can go) will depend on various component tolerances, and maybe the gain of the transistor.
I'd increase the 1K. I'm not sure whether that is the R10 you refer to.

Yes, bumping up the 1k to 1k5 or 1k8 should help.

Oh man, that's killer thanks guys.  I'm stoked that what I thought might be the problem might actually be the problem.  A year ago I wouldn't have even known how to measure voltages on the trannys.  I'll put a new resistor in tomorrow and report back.

Thanks sooooooo much.   :icon_biggrin:
