hello

im installing a piezo pickup with volume and tone controls to my sisters boyfriends acoustic guitar, i found i got the best sound when the piezo was at the bridge
so, where would be the best place the mount the piezo? inside the guitar body or on the top of the body?
plus i am going to build him a pre amp because the output from the piezo (with volume and tone all the way up) was rather low

Inside the body, under the bridge. The preamp(I'd suggest an LPB)... I'd use PCB mount pots and just let it hang off them...

thanks, saves me drilling a hole to thread the piezo wires through
i was thinking of building the DOD 201 PREAMP for it
would that be a good idea?
plus, i cant find any 2N5088's anywere
i can however get a MPF102

I think the best sound is when the piezo is far from the guitar... :)

Have you tried something like the AKG C411-L contact mic? At the AKG site there's the service manual of their B29 adapter, so you can build a diy preamp for that if you want.

nah, im trying to use anything special
just basic stuff, besides, the piezo transducer im using doesnt sound bad at all, just not alot of volume out of it
