GGG ITS8 clipping switch question

I recently got my ITS8 project from GGG completed, so then I started to mod it. First I did the Keeley mods with no problems. I then proceeded to do the AMZ Fat Boost mod, which
indeed boosted the lower end like it's supposed to. I then decided to make a small PCB perfboard and add 2 clipping mods - 2 1n4148s, and 2 1n60 ger. diodes. Here's the pic:

the mod layout

The mod is working as far as I can tell. On one side (the 4148s) have good distortion and level. However when I flip the switch to the 1n60s, I get the same tones with
mild distortion, but at a noticeably lower level. I tried this mod 1st with all 1n60s and had the mild distortion, but the level was fine. Is there a way to boost the lesser side to equal the other or am I doing something wrong? ?

You've done it right.  That's the thing with clipping mods.  Different diodes clip different amounts of signal, and you end up with different output levels.  If you can't live with it, the only thing to do is use a switch with another pole on it and switch in a resistor to attenuate the output of the louder clipping section down to where the other is.  Or route the out put to a different volume pot, so you'd have 2 levels (ugh).   When I did this I lived with it.  Diodes aren't the sort of thing that most people want to switch on the fly.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Still new to all this and wanted to see if there was an easy way to boost the level of the germanium side. I kinda like both, but the volume difference is a little too much, and lowering the 4148 side is not an option (sounds too good :D).

I'm working on a big TS project with lots of clipping styles, which all have different outputs, and some are kind of low.  So I wired a booster into the enclosure too to bring up the output when needed.
