I cant find them anywhere in the UK, or on the normal places I look in the US...

And I have searched high and low for equivalents but cant find any equivalent numbers to use, let alone whether anyone stocks them...

I have emailed Steve at smallbear and am waiting for a reply...

I think there's a US seller on E-bay flogging them right now.

I have a couple hundred short legged ones... Pulls from a very old computer circuit board. They're just average PNP Germanium trannys, nothing unusual at all. You can no doubt sub AC128, AC188, OC44, etc... or any of the Japanese or Russian PNP germs.
Keep in mind that in general, old Ge trannys like that are so inconsistant with gain and leakage that part numbers usually make little difference...  ;)

Jeez, that's outrageously expensive, unless ya know for sure it'll be the exact specs ya need...(and for that matter, the specs on paper are what yer ears want) then it's worth it...

I gotta get set up for testing leakage/accurate gain one o' these days... I've been getting them(Ge trannys) by the truckload, then just using trial and error to find 'good' ones(haven't even needed to use bias trimpots yet) in the few Ge based circuits I've built. I suppose the 'get only what ya need' method would make sense too, I just took another route... except the first pair, which I got from smallbear for a FF, and worked great...

You're using this for the harmonic percolater, right? I built the Jerkulator, loved the sound. ;D

mercy me

for some reason no one has asked me if i have these items,i do original ge short legged but fully funtioning low leakage in some cases very low 0.04ma but typically 0.2 or less with good hfe`s from 50-70+.
i have shed loads of ac128,asy26,asy27 and a lot of japanese germanium types plus lots more i dont list on ebay
i can also get my hands on new germanium devices made in the usa but NOT GPD.admitedly i would have to buy a lot to get the price down and even then were talking $4.00 each
items are supplied by us military contractor and are tested and especially treated, but for the moment ask me if you want something i will take paypal and have already sold ac128 to fellow members cheaper than bardwells and most of the european dealers like reichelt

if i can help with a part contact me,quite a lot of my stock is already selling on other well known websites at ridiculous prices, the same ones you are talking about costing £7 a pop no way plus many many other sites in europe.  if i can help anyone just leave a message.i`m off to ebay land now
