A strange crackling noise occurs lately to my Wah, when i play it with my FD-II and Thor.

This happens if i play for about 40 minutes with all pedals on.
When i shut down the two OD's the crackling goes away and it comes back shortly after, if i engage the OD's back again...

I suspect Q2 in the wah, but i need a pro's opinion...

It's not an inductor problem, because when the noise is there, i switch on different inductors and nothing changes (noise-wise)

What do you think?

here's a pic from the rig:

btw, i run the FD-II @ 18 Volts

I would check for loose jacks on the wah, as well as a broken/loose ground wire.  These things tend to only act up when your foot is having fun with the pedal.  I had a problem similar to that, and it turns out it was the pot.  I popped in a replacement and my wah lived again.  I had tried a new bypass switch and transistors.  For some reason, probably psychological, I heard a change in the amount of crackling when I changed transistors.  It's crazy how our brain hears what it wants to.

strange....

but i'll definitely take a look "under the hood" for falty grounding.

thanks for the tip, bro!

Did you ever figure this one out? I'm curious about the root of the problem...

Is there a reason to suspect heat buildup within the power supply?  E.g., are you regulating this with a 100ma 3-pin regulator when you should have used a 1A type?

my power supply comes from a 1.6A, noise/hum free adapter.

do you think that there would be such a component in that circuit?

besides, in that case wouldn't all powered pedals crackle?...

last night i played the S__t out of that rig and i never heard a single pop!...  ???

...is it self-healing?...   :icon_mrgreen:
