What type of lubricant should I use to stop the rack and pinion parts from this awful squeak?

On the inside of the pedal, I lubed the pot turning mechanism with viscous automotive "clean" grease.  It is an off-white substance very similar to what Dunlop now uses to lubricate this part.  That worked great.  I figured out that the squeak was coming from the rocker mechanism, and it was dry and dirty, I cleaned it as best as i could and shot some WD40 in there.  Now the noise is gone and the action is SMOOTH.  I love the smell of WD40.

Thanks for posting this, mine is squeaky as well and the guys in the band laugh at me.  Do you have a manufacturer and product name for the grease you used?  Thanks!
