GREEN FUZ

QuoteWith the inclusion of R2, a resistance of 4k7 is now in parallel with the input resistance as seen at the base of TR2, and in turn this combined resistance is in parallel with the previous stage's collector resistor - R1 - pulling it down in value and lowering the gain of the first stage.
Interesting. To be honest I didn`t do any biasing. Just popped in the trannies and hoped for the best. Sometimes I`m just happy that it makes any noise at all.
QuoteCan't remember the track - Heart Full of Soul? - but Jeff Beck famously used an old Fuzz box (no doubt a Ge tonebender) to get a similar sound to a Sitar
I`ve just had a listen. Seems he might have pulled the same trick on Over Under sideways Down. He could make a banjo sound like a Moog. ;D
