A rough estimate of it all: 1500 euros.

You squeezed it into a 1590A - you insane fool!  :icon_mrgreen:

Well this... this is just silly... this can't fit in a 1590B... can it? And you're not even using SMD you mad man!

pazuzu

ouch. awesome, but ouch. a local builder here (http://www.benfordguitars.com/) quoted me 1600 usd for a custom lp style 7 string. but i am going mahogany neck through with an ebony fret board.

Valoosj

One more pic, with some decent light.

My very own handmade strat. Named it after my son Johannes.

Wilkins hardware and Bare Knuckle slow hand (with baseplate) pickups.

Playes great, sounds great!

I find it funny how I can have close to 1000 components, yet I never seem to have enough parts to make a project. :icon_eek:

jacobyjd

Yorick, that is by far the coolest headstock design I've ever seen. That inlay is perfect in its boldness and simplicity. Play it well--you deserve it! Gorgeous work.

Danku Geert.

Jacobyd, thank you very much. It was a nutcracker, but when I finally decided upon the inlay my little sis (8months old) was more than happy to help out.

Here are some pics of my new baby.  Her name is Daphne.  My buddy and I built her together.  He did most of the actual construction and then I did the electronics and some of the internal routing.  I actually just brought her home last night from being professionally setup and she plays and sounds as beautiful as she looks.

the body is mahogany with a spalted walnut top and flamed maple "racing stripes" as I like to call them

beautiful.  where'd you get the walnut, I've been looking for something very similar.

My friend actually ordered the body as one piece from a dealer.  I can get you the dealers contact info if you'd like.

PMcG No.6

My '99 Les Paul Classic. It's honeyburst. I replaced the shitty 500t bridge pup last year with a Rockfield SWC and it sounds SO much better. I plan on replacing the neck pup with a match and keeping it uncovered. I like the "reverse-Page" look.

PMcG No.6 -  That's a great looking honeyburst.  I'm jealous.

Ripthorn

That's a sweet Tele.  I am building one right now that is maple, spalted maple and walnut.  Should look a little unassuming, but the electronics are going to be wild.  I'll post pics and details here after it gets closer to being finished.

Like anything else, it's rare that any of my guitars are left standard.

The Table
My experimental guitar which been through many configurations. Including being stripped it's gaffa tape, having all it's holes filled and being presented here naked. As it's the main target of my fettlage, it distracts me from butchering nicer axes. Which can only be a good thing.
Spec: Sperzel locking tuners, Bare Knucle Pickups Cold Sweat set (B=C 14.2k N=AV 8.2k), Mother's Milk middle (AV 5.7k), individual switching for all pickups, coil split on push/pull tone pot, shielded.

The Gaffer
So good I bought another. A serious bargain at less than half the price of my first.
Spec: Sperzel locking tuners, EMG 81/60 pickups (middle PU is a dummy), EMG PA-2 boost circuit wired to volume push/pull, shielded.

Soapy
I wanted a cheap mahogany guitar with P90s. This surprised me by being one of the best sounding guitars I've ever heard regardless of price.
Spec: Grover locking tuners, Bare Knuckle Pickups BKP-91 set (B=AV 8.4k N=AV 7k), Tone Pros AVT2M-C wraparound intonatable bridge.

The Fanboy
Pretty much my most perfect guitar. Everything is just right about it.
Spec: Bare Knuckle Pickups ceramic Warpig (C 22k) & Mississippipig (AV 20k) set, EMG-AB Afterburner, black chrome pup rings.

The White Snake
Given how good the other one is, and how I've always wanted a white Viper, I couldn't help myself when this one turned up. Especially as it has the rare matching white headstock.
Spec: Bare Knuckle Pickups Miracle Man set (B=C 17.5k N=AV 17.5k), coil split on push/pull tone pot.

The Strat
I almost sold this one and am now glad I didn't. The bridge pup was the only thing that was weak on it, so that's been swapped out for something much less subtle.
Spec: Bare Knuckle Pickups baseplated Sinner bridge pickup (AV 21k), Fender stock pickups middle and neck (M&N=AV approx 6k), parchment 3-ply pickguard.

Eddy
Had one of these before and I was an idiot to sell it.
Spec: Bare Knuckle Pickups 'The Mule' set (B=AIV 8.4k N=AIV 7.3k)

juansolo- I think your collection of Bareknuckles is probably worth more than all of my gear put together.  I love BKP's and I'm very jealous  :icon_mrgreen:

Worth keeping an eye on ebay and the seconds out area of the BKP forum. They don't need to be as expensive as you think and there are a couple of sets there that I've managed to get for no more than the equivalent SD. But they can run to a lot when you get them from Tim direct, especially if you want something a bit custom. Worth it though. I was always swapping and changing Duncans and Dimarzios, never satisfied. Generally when you find a BKP set that works, it goes in and stays.

I agree completely.  All of the BKP's I heard are head and shoulders above evrything else I've heard.  I have a VHII in my washburn Idol and it screams in a wonderful way.

that's some pretty amazing looking work.

my main guitars:

Wow, guitars for the retro-futuro snowmen amongst us.  I have envy.

Breadwinners are amazing, all of those seventies Ovations were just so under-rated and ahead of their time.  As were the S series Guilds like yours.

I like you, Birt, you have style and taste.  And a handsome dog.
