Warrants a better picture, but this is from our weekend session. 1964 ES-335 that lived under my girlfriends bed for a decade. She told me once "i have this guitar, it was my mom's"... I thought "oh that's nice" until one day curiosity got the better of me.....

MARRY HER NOW!!

OOps, got another guitar yesterday.
Its a 70's Levin. 200kr/£20/$30 at a market. It was cheap, but damn it's another project because the soundboard struts need re-glueing  ::)
It should sound beautiful when fixed up, and it was 10% of what they go for on ebay, with a gig bag and a Boss TU-70 forgotten in the pocket.
Didn't really need another project though.
Looks like this, but with some scratches round the sound hole from the shredder that didn't look after it.

That's a nice find. SEK/NKR/DKR? Not that it matters that much they're almost the same converted to £ or $ and rounded for convenience, but it's nice to know for a Swede (the nationality not the vegetable).

Hey, I could use that to compensate for my enormous...

... lack of guitar skills.

My custom RG570. I had the body custom made from a guy on ebay. He made it out of one peice of mahogany. I added the bevel on the lower horn on the back.

deadastronaut

^ classy....love that bevel idea....nice guitar man!... :icon_cool: :icon_cool: :icon_cool:

Got my Squier Cyclone yesterday. Interesting.

The knobs were junk, so I swapped them out:

A strange paint line on the neck pocket...

...piqued my curiosity, so I took the whole thing apart, and found this paint chip, which appears to have come off the inside near where the bridge screws come through.

Looks like the guitar was originally surf green, then painted white (primer?), and then painted black. Under a bright white light, the black appears to be dark green.

I'm going to do a full review soon. :)

If you're not doing it for yourself, it's not DIY. ;)

That looks like body filler to me. I've considered it to re-level my neck. Also, might be there to make sure there's a solid surface for the neck to seat against to reduce the joint dampening. It would fill in the pores. Also, might just be to fill a f-up.  ;D

Last night, pulled this out of the case where it's sat since two or three Christmas' back and it's still pretty much in tune with itself, tuning overall had dropped but it was last tuned during times of dry central heating and now it's hot and humid. Made it during the mid to late nineties. Engelmann Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back/sides and bridge, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, compensated bone nut and saddle, Schaller tuners. Based on the plan/drawing of a Romanillos which in turn was i believe, based on a Hauser.  The French Polish has taken a beating and it doesn't play nice with pedals but all else is well and good. Time for a manicure and grind my rust off, the other home inhabitants are not going to miss the usual squealing feedback and paint peeling volume (according to them, "we can hear that when came around the corner at the end of the street").

Cheers
dave

Yes, a pour filler of some sort.  NOT the way to deal with a neck which isn't straight, though.  Not even kind of.  Actually, more of a good way to ruin a neck.
