We need more fiddles...

A Squire Bullet Stratocaster. I replaced a few things as you can see. Pickups might be replaced, too.

Like I stated in a previous post, I have just replaced some of the stock things in/on my Squire with these:

The result is quite good, I think:

The stock single-coils weren't bad, just a bit too generic sounding. The new ones are way more "in your face, electric blues" sounding.
a perfect match for a Deluxe Reverb; it may be a DIY clone, but it's still the Real Deal.

Here's my other fiddle: a J&D Brothers thing with pots, knobs, wiring, caps, switches, pickups, straplocks and nut replaced with better things.
Added proper copper-foil shielding to it too. I cut my fingers while applying the foil; painfull.  :icon_redface:  :icon_lol:
The new humbuckers are a pair of Tonerider Rocksong.  They are damn good. Buyn them.

Here are mine:

This is a Vintage V6 strat copy. Probably the best cheap guitar you can get. IMO better than Squiers and can give some lower-end Mex Fenders a run for their money. It hummed quite a lot but I've shielded it properly with conductive paint and copper pickguard shield and now it's dead quiet. Obviously apart from the inevitable single coil hum in some situations. Modded the guitar with exchanging volume pot to 1Meg to make it even brighter, wiring a master tone and adding a killswitch in a place of unused tone.

And now that's my fave but it's unfortunately back home in Poland and I'm UK based now. It's a crazy, early sixties axe straight from Czechoslovakia! Jolana Star V. Got it for about a tenner but spent many times that getting it to a playable condition that is swapping pots, tuners and getting new frets. It's a short scale 24" with a really thin neck, thinnest one I've played, probably around 39mm at the nut. Sounds crazy bright and trebly and you can hear all the metal parts (probably truss rod included) rattling when playing. Kinda cool if you ask me but that's an acquired taste. Oh, and Jaguar-style tremolo/floating bridge as a bonus!

And my main squeeze:

Sorry for the grainy photos, didn't feel like digging out the real camera.

Mac Walker

#11 and #12  - Tele's

Finish on #11 is hammerite paint, because I'm lazy and the body was a failed pine oxidation experiment gone awry.

Finish on #12 is watco danish oil, finished off with beeswax.

Both of the necks are raw wood with beeswax applied with a hairdryer.

Perrow

Really like number 12 there.

#12, agreed, nice piece of wood but... the body shape and single pickup of #11 does it for me.

This is my main guitar - Squire Affinity Tele, with GFS NeoVin noiseless pups:

And this is a project guitar I put together from parts, changed the colour from black to surf-green (actually I changed the neck, and the new one has abelone inlays.. but haven't taken a photo yet, I also have some H90 pups on order for it):

I bought that thing for $400 when I was a kid and it's still the best guitar I've owned, mostly because it stays in tune!
