That Dano has been nicely Gretsched out, too. BTW, how do you like those H-Bs?

Picked this RGX421D up off Gumtree the other week for $100AUD.
It's keeping my SG good company.

There was a time when I was far more into guitars than pedals, but these days I'm down to a couple of basses I built myself, a guitar I built myself, a Westone Thunder 1-A that someone found in a skip, an old Charvette that I'm still mucking about with and a Yamaha APX700 acoustic.

Here are some pics:

I've also got a Rickenbacker 330 here that used to be mine - I sold it to a friend but since then it's spent most of the time here despite my encouraging him to take it away

Those Danelectro are one-of-a-kind Lefty Tributes without any regular existence... The Green has been built from scratch et the Orange was a derelict hollowbody saved from trash.

And yes, those Harley Benton MS60LH-VW are very well built, and once set up correctly they play flawlessly. These guitars were sold dead cheap 2nd hand like new and unused, because as is they were unplayable and in need of serious set-up and modifications.

A few days ago, I bought a JA60LH-OW 2nd Hand too... Dead cheap too... I'm waiting for her delivery in the days to come.

Those guitars are interesting and reliable modding platforms.

Nice vid. I don't think I'd go floating my Maton in water, but I'm no rich hipster.

Very old photo but I still have it. Limited edition 2007 Fender Palo Escrito Telecaster.

But what I mostly play is my newish, very cheap (£109 discounted!!) Squier Mustang

I have all the parts I need to make five or six pedals, so of course I recently spent an afternoon putting a couple of pickups in a guitar :)

The guitar had a single P90 squeezed into the bridge humbucker rout which I didn't want to take out, so I ordered a pair of very cheap mini humbuckers from China (eBay) and currently there's a 3 way switch for bridge and neck pickups and an on/off toggle for the middle. That means that I can have all three on at once but not the middle pickup on its own.

I've started taking old, beat up guitars and doing whatever I can to make them presentable, fully functional and very playable.
I'm trying to hone my skills a bit before going on a guitar building course. When each one is finished, I'll eBay them, buy another, repeat.

First up is an old Stagg Jag alike. Evicted the spiders, electrics rewired, frets polished, nut recut, full setup. Plays extremely well with a low action and sound like - well, an old Stagg Jag. Hoping for around £40 on the bay to keep costs neutral. Sad to say, this is fun

Few pics of my latest build - a guitar heavily inspired by Ibanez JPM. I initially did JPM-style graphics with candy apple red finish but after a month it all cracked, so we had to strip it and refinish it, this time at a local auto body shop, using Porsche Acid Green Paint.

Here's few images of the JPM graphic, while it lasted :)

And once it's all finished

And one with me posing with it :)

Working on this one currently. Was unsure of which pickups(s) to add to the Seymour Duncan supplied with the guitar so I thought I'd run some tests making cardboard scratchplates. The poles of this DiMarzio were the wrong spacing so I had to angle it. Sounds great but gets in the way of my fingers a bit. Maybe that's why they're usually straight at the neck?

Had to design the scratchplate myself with only an outline from the old, homemade one which came with the guitar. It only fits correctly because of the dozens of paper templates I made first. Next is a HSS version... and the final one will be black

I got 6 for £90 on fleaBay. Should make my money back on 5 but this one's going nowhere. Don't tell the missus ;)

More like the soul of a Strat stuck in the body of a Jag.

result,  i still have my bitsocaster i got for 30quid off ebay, added a full size humbucker, and 2 hot rails buckers,

and though i have a gibson les paul, and ibanez rg470, and a jackson rr1, the cheapo is the one i play the most.

its nice to mod it, and not be precious about it...its setup really nice ... 8)

im always on the look out for cheap old lefties...as long as they have the heavy bodies....the light weight bodies are just naff....feels too light.

This is getting addictive. Never worked on an acoustic before and this one from the same batch had neck & fret problems as well as a massive belly on it which took a week to level out. Action now reduced from 16mm to 2.6 at 12th fret so it plays well again. Got my last set of D'Addario 10's on it and a cut down chopstick as a temp replacement for the missing peg. Looks pretty though - Chinese Fender

Now feeling naked - no spare strings, can't get to a guitar store even if they were open and Amazon are reporting earliest delivery 21st of next month!
