I wish my belly would level out within a week.   :icon_rolleyes:

Lovely looking guitar, Kevin.   :icon_cool:   So you're after strings?  Lots of places out there that I'm happy to recommend.  I assume they're still doing ordering online.

I received a notice Friday from Strings and Beyond, free international shipping until March 27, no code needed. Been getting my strings here for a number of years.

Thanks guys - just found strings direct in the UK. I'm stupidly fussy where i get my string since receiving the motherload of fakes - and my were they bad!
Time to give online a try again..

Strings Direct is probably where the majority of my strings come from, including the non-guitar ones.

Ibanez Artist that was sitting in a basement for a few decades. I had to throw the case out because of mold, but the guitar is ok after delousing. What a sound.

Jeremy, do you happen to know which model number that is? I've got an AS120 in a cherry finish, also gorgeous, but suffers from a bit of twist in the neck.

NGD for me this past weekend - finally finished a Warmoth Telecaster build:

Nice. How did you wire the switch and pickups?

GGBB

5-way super switch with push-pull tone pot.

Switch gives:

neck
neck+bridge series
neck+bridge parallel
neck+bridge out of phase
bridge

The push-pull switch toggles the middle pickup giving ten tones total. So I can get all the standard tele position tones as well as the strat 2 and 4 "quack" position tones, and then another 5 tones. All three pickups on is triple-quack-tastic.

This is a 1981 AS200.

My experience with Ibanez over the last few years has been what you describe. A LOT of them develop the thing where they are back bowed from the first to fifth frets and front bowed the rest of the way.

That is cool

Something that has been up on the blue guitar site for years 90's IIRC . I built a thinline tele using this wiring a little different order. Series and one pickup inverted is cool. I used a Yamaha switch IIRC I don't rememebr if the super switch was available at the time of the build.

On the list is the L6 6 way switching for two pickups have you looked at that? I believe the guitar world has overlooked it.

I got the 5-way wiring from Stew-Mac - saw a video on it and they have a downloadable PDF (https://www.stewmac.com/articles-and-video/trade-secrets/how-to-get-two-more-sounds-out-of-your-fender-telecaster.html). But I'm sure it's been floating around for a long time. The switch positions are different than the blueguitar variation - more conventional (the stock tele positions are the same) which I like better.

The 6-way seems interesting but I wonder how beneficial it is to have both series and parallel out-of-phase options - could there be that much difference that both would be useful? I can't image that I'll use the out-of-phase position terribly often so one is enough for me. Plus I do not like rotary pickup selectors switches.

Funny, I thought that. Turns out that it's an amazing sound with almost no volume drop. On my guitar at least...

Which one are you talking about - series or parallel?

Parallel. Sorry I wasn't clear. Dunno if it's just the pickups I'm using but it's the closest I come to the Peter green sound. Then again, if you heard it, you'd probably disagree. I have lo-fi ears. They come with age
