bamboo?

umm. BAMBOO?!

The neck heel, pickguard and jack ferrule on that guitar are each works of art... not to mention the bamboo neck! What's it sound like? What woods would you compare bamboo to tonally?
[edit] +1 on stainless steel frets, I'm a total convert  :icon_cool:
I don't know what wood to compare it.Anyway, here's a video of it with two other strats.  ;)

Here's a guitar we made a long time ago, but it was waiting for pickups for about two years :) Finally, it got a set of DiMarzio evolutions.
Body is hand painted by my aunt.

Cheers

Bancika: did your aunt use enamel with a poly overcoat? Just curious how you/she applied that amazing finish.

It's nitrocellulose finish, both paint she used and clear coat. She used very fine brushes she uses for her paintings and it took few months to complete.

Oh I like that paint job!  really suits the guitar!  Schaller bridge?

Don't feel bad about waiting two years... The bass in the photo of mine with the black cat sat in it's case for 15 years waiting to have the frets leveled, hardware and electronics!  I had changed my design and didn't finish it because it was a bolt on and I lost interest in it.  Now I love the thing.. play it all the time. I still haven't rubbed out the finish.

yay lefties!   ;D

Here's the latest mods to my MIJ strat, twin Kent Armstrong humbucker-sized P-90's:

It gets strung left handed, as I couldn't afford a lefty and bought this second hand 12 years ago.
The P-90s sound amazing. Huge single coil sound.

What's the trem tool? Is it for setting it at the right height whilst tuning? Might have to make/invest in one of those...

andrew_k

It's a tremolok, made by gripmaster -- designed to keep up the floating bridge when the strings have been removed. I bought it about 10 years ago and they don't appear to make them anymore, but it's just a hard piece of plastic with neoprene on the bottom to protect the finish / provide grip and an angled edge where it slips under the bridge. Definitely a handy thing to have in amongst your guitar tools.
