'66 Jaguar and '72 Mustang. These are my guitars.
And Ben the dog, my girlfriend's beloved cuddly dog. He's seen better days.

I like Grunge

man they are very cool! I always wanted to have an mustang like yours, but they are too expensiv in Germany. I had one in my hands, in a music store, but I wasn't able to buy it...
And i think i wouldn't play it live, because theres no Humbucker  :) :icon_lol:

Skruffyhound

Alex(CynicalMan) those are two very fine looking guitars IMO.

CynicalMan

Thanks. I try to make a habit (out of necessity) to take cheap guitars and make them sound and play like expensive ones. So, each of those cost around $350 total for the guitar, pickups, etc., but they sound great. To the left of the guitars you can see the footswitch for my Bugera V22, which also cost me around $350 and sounds great.  ;)

Valoosj

I have just put on the first coat of paint.

So excited to get this one finished.

Ok ok, I'll show you the rest.

The body will be painted ocean turquoise metallic, so don't get too excited about the nice slab of wood.

This is the back of the neck in an earlier stage.

And the entire building process can be viewed here.

Oh Valoosj, that is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.  I almost cried with jealousy reading your build report.

Thank you gentlemen. I am very lucky to have an entire workshop with all the necessary tools at my disposal.
Other than that, it's not so different from building stompboxes: it takes a lot of patience and two right hands. No lefties allowed  :icon_twisted:

Man, that looks good.

I've been avidly following your posts on the OSG forum.

Valoosj

Ah, I have just updated that site as well, but it's not such a happy reply though ...

My guitar built from parts three to four years ago. It's constantly being modified but I really like the setup I have it at right now. And Yorick, AWESOME job

The tone knob is a push/pull pot that bypasses everything and sends the bridge pickup direct out.
Big Muff, Trotsky Drive, Little Angel, Valvecaster, Whisker Biscuit, Smash Drive, Green Ringer, Fuzz Face, Rangemaster, LPB1, Bazz Fuss/Buzz Box, Radioshack Fuzz, Blue Box, Fuzzrite, Tonepad Wah, EH Pulsar, NPN Tonebender, Torn's Peaker...

Good choice on the Mastery Bridge.  Woody (who owns Mastery) does repair work in my shop, and that bridge is the only thing that makes Jazzmasters playable, as far as I'm concerned!

Hi
Some times things take a little longer than you expected. This project was meant for the 666 competition. But a slow delivery of the small pot's crashed that plan. But better late then never. So here folks, meet The "Boogie Man" Its, as you might suspect a Dr. Boogie only in a slight smaller costume than you usually find him.

The paper decals is to be schanged for water slides soon.

The only bad sounding stomp box is an unbuilt stomp box. ;-)

This topic is for general guitar pictures, and not just guitars that you made, right?

Here's my strat. 1993 Am Std. A pickup broke before I moved south in 2001, and it sat disassembled in a box until 2008. I replaced the pickups with GFS '64 Stagger Vintage Grey-Bottoms, replaced all the electronics, shielded it with copper tape, put on a pearloid pickguard, and put on aged white knobs and pickup covers. It's wired for master volume/master tone/bridge blend, which I really like.

Here's the jazz bass that I picked up about 3 weeks ago. 2008 Mexican Standard. I had wanted a bass for a long time. I was about to order an SX when I found this one in a pawn shop, marked at $349. I negotiated it down to $187.25 out the door. Cleaned it up, conditioned the fretboard, polished the frets, did a quick setup, and replaced the loose and stripped jack.

I also have an Ibanez GAX-70, a Fender DG22CE acoustic, a 1980s Yamaha classical, and a Fender mandolin. I just bought an Agile AL-2000 Honey Sunburst Flame that should ship out to me on Monday. I'll post pictures of the rest of my guitars after I have had a chance to clean them up. :)

If you're not doing it for yourself, it's not DIY. ;)
