Thanks guys. Off course I'll play with this guitar. She's now my main guitar.
Dinging it gives it character, aren't we all so fond of mojo ;) I don't mind her becoming a relic guitar.

How do you like that mastery bridge? I've been thinking about getting one for my Jag, but recently some Curtis Novak pickups set me back a bit so I'm waiting for approval from the wife.

Get it.  It will make a world of difference.  I have yet to hear one complaint about them (other than the wait to get one!), and I know a lot of guys who are playing Jags and Jazzmasters now that had sat in closest for years before they got the Mastery Bridge.

It's a good bridge. Definitely worth the money.

I've had a mustang bridge on mine for 20 some odd years, I've modified it to stop rattling and the whole reason I play short scale Fenders is because I love really huge strings so I don't really have any problems on the Jag or my Mustangs (a 65 and a 72) but the Mastery bridge just looks sooo much better.  My problem is that I'll want to put it on all  three and my Jag Custom Baritone (the bass VI one not the black one) and that's A LOT of money.

They aren't cheap, but the quality is top notch, and you will not be disappointed.  (I should point out here, the guy who makes them is one of the repair guys in my shop.  I have no financial stake in the company.)

Here's a camera pic of my recently re-finished translucent green 72 Mustang I bought in 91 for $75 because it was sanded down and routed for humbuckers.  The wood pickguard is just temporary until I make a better one, I just wanted to make sure I liked the pickup selection.  It's Jaguar switching except the choke switch is actually a phase switch for the Jazzmaster bridge pickup, the neck is a Rick High Gain, seems to be a nice combo.

You already do - something like 50% of all US presidents have been left-handed, including the last 4!  Compare that to the lefty population....

But yeah, don't apologize.  You folks already get the short end of the stick often enough.  Heck, there is every good chance you had to pay an up-charge on most of those instruments because they were left-handed!

I have to say - I understand why people do it.  Making guitars for lefties sucks, because when it's done I can't tell if it's any good, and every step takes longer (because I have to modify my jigs, etc.)  Even with all of that, though, I figure you guys get shafted enough, and I don't charge extra for lefties.

I assume you are familiar with South Paw Guitars, yes?  Where right handed guitars are 15% extra?  (I don't know if they actually follow through on that, but it is a funny ad line!)

Gabriel

good man.......all the lefties i see in the uk, are priced well over the right hand equivalent....even the copies! :icon_rolleyes:

i blame my mum and dad... :icon_wink:

that sounds like a good philosophy that south paws have...

Somebody here was talking about leftism. Ted Kaczynski wrote quite a lengthy manifesto about leftism and such. Some might know him better by his alias; the unabomber.
I had to read the entire thing (60 pages) of him rambling on about what is wrong with (American) society. Got to love it when your professor of American Culture also teaches filosophy ...
