Nice collection but how's that pickup in the SG?

I like it a lot, but as you can see I'm not really a Gibson guy so your mileage may vary.  It's basically a Firebird mini-humbucker with a plastic cover.  It's a really great guitar for playing rock and roll.
Aha, I knew a bloke who had a Firebird PU on a tele and that rocked. I'll have to keep an eye out

'69 gold top, recent recording session.  This June marks twenty years that I have owned this guitar, I guess the good ones stay with you....

Pinecaster Esquire, from salvaged pine, ten piece quartersawn, with a $1 pickguard from the Goodwill....

Wow    that's great. I'm going to have to steal that idea when I make a tele. ;)

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

rousejeremy

Looks great. Did you build that Mac? I heard Pine is tough to work with.

Great tele, I have nothing but love for teles.

Mac Walker

Thanks!

The record pickguard is certainly not my idea, fellers over at the tele forum have been doing this for a while.

The body is made from the ehawley drawing from the tele forum, the neck is actually from guitarfetish (for a standard neck its cheaper to buy a finished one from China than to buy the truss rod, wood, and the frets!)  It's a softer maple, definitely not rock maple....

The recommendation with pine is to block sand the end grain, due to the differences in hardness between the summer and winter grain (yellow vs. brown grain)....

Love the tele pickguard.   8)

I fancied something a little different for my P-Bass, so I got one of those clear acrylic jobs and filled it with various bills from around the world.  Not as expensive as it sounds: most were defunct currencies that moved to Euros...  The other was a US Dollar.  I really ought to take a picture and post it...

I layed one of my guitars in the grass today and took this photo. It's a 2004 Fender Standard Stratocaster (Satin Midnight Blue) with Seymour Duncan YJM Fury pickups I installed (closeup in my previous post) and the neck has been custom scalloped by Dean Cascione.
