Hi all,
New to this forum and new to SS stompboxes, but have built many tube amps.
My first prject is a straight-up rangemaster clone and I have one question: When I try to install an LED in this box, it cuts the output of the pedal drastically. Seems like the additional draw of the LED is affecting the bias on the PNP. Is there a way to put an LED in there or do you just have to leave it out in order to get the right sound?
Thanks

dave,
have you added a limiting resistor to the led?

¥ep. Even went up in value a bunch but it made no difference.

As per the GEOfex Austin Trebleblaster, which doesn't include instructions for an LED.

Can you draw how you wire it.. or at least describe it??

If not it's like talking in the air really. You could take a look toe the DEBUGGING - what to do when it doesn't work thread.

Actually I think I may have just figured it out-- does it make sense that it would suck current away if the limiting resistor was on the wrong end of the LED?

If you put it in the positive side, and this happens to you, I don't believe it should. If you put in the negative side I believe there's a chance, depending on the circuit.
