Yes I am another with a range master problem.
I got instructions for a tone control from this thread. http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=54981.new;topicseen#new
(Slackers Post)

I wanted to remove the dc jack and just have the unit run off of battery.
I drew the tone control on the diagram from GGG here : http://img379.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rangtonegj3.gif]
*Note I didnt draw the cap in the diagram..refer to the above link*

I have noticed ever since I added this control a massive vol loss. I have heard adding a 2 way toggle for bright and dark instead of the tone pot will not have any vol loss.

How would I do this? I was thinking something like this:
If this is correct how do I solder it to the board?

Thanks ALOT!

What you depicted would work if you used a DPDT On-On switch, and you are correct in recalling having read that there won't be a volume loss if you use this method.

Thanks for the reply!
I will get the DPDT On- On switch. Where do I solder it to the board?
How I have the caps on the DPDT and wires coming off of it is correct?
What are 2 good caps to get a really bright and a nice dark sound?

Thanks

I still havent found where the place to solder the switch down to goes..

Same place as the pot?

Thanks

Here's my take on this pedal:

I added a simple switch (input cap switch) .  Just experiment with different values until it sounds good and versatile.  For the switch:  K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, silly).  Just use a SPDT (ON ON).  Although, you could use a stomp-switch (DPDT) to switch tones while playing....

Second- i added a simple tone control, nothing special....

And last but not least:  A volume control; you'll want this to be atleast 1-meg or 2-Meg.  Why?  Because with any simple tone control there is a volume loss.  If you "rake up" the value of the volume control- it makes up for the volume loss, cool little trick.

Enjoy!

Is there a way to just have to toggle? I have heard just using the toggle will have no tone loss

Yun

yeah, just ommit the simple tone control, man......
