I am attempting to build a copy of his sun face that uses bc108c's.

I have gotten a few pictures of the board and closeups on the parts. I was wondering if anyone out there could help me figure out what I need If I want to build this on the board GGG uses for their fuzz faces.

This would be a big help!

contact Mike (analogman)

he's been known to be fairly generous with info....

might depend on his mood though :)

The easiest way is to socket all parts. Use BC108C transistors. Different values for output cap is worth a try (0.01uF and 0.047uF for example). Check ROG 'Multi-face' too...

Mike gave away a stack of Sunface pcbs and parts a while back, so he'd probably be ok to help you  :icon_wink:

If you have pictures of ours it should be very easy to build from the silicon fuzzface schematics on the internet. Or send me a dollar and a SASE and I will mail you a board.

have fun!

Or, why not just build my design "Mosig Banan". It's a modded Fuzz Face with BC108.  8)

what a nice offer!

mike, I keep wondering how to do the "sun dial" bias. do you simply replace one resistor with a pot? if so, which one?

analogmike

Email me (sorry I rarely read messages on any board)  for info on sending for a board, we get 2 sunface boards tacked on each comp board so we have plenty.

For the sundial, it's the 8.2K resistor but we add a limiting resistor which depends on the actual biasing of the transistors you use. We use a 5K (usually) or 10K pot and make it about 5V when the pot is at 12:00 by selecting the proper limiting resistor. See RGs page for more info on this, have fun!

http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/fuzzface/fffram.htm this one? It sure gives a lot of information, but not about your sun dial mod. The Fuller mod which is mentioned there seems to be similar, though.
I'll give your sun dial mod a try. Thanks a lot for the information, that was really helpful!
