Vocal rack

Hi guys, I would like to build a vocal rack (chorus, delay, phaser, compressor, echo), so I would like to know if I could use guitar effects schematics to do it?

Most microphone signals have a different impedance levels from guitar signals. You could do this as long as you used an XLR to 1/4" adaptor that also changes impedance in and use one that is its compliment to send the signal out.

Conversely, you could design a circuit to go between the input of the unit and the input of your first effect circuit that changes impedance, and the create a reverse circuit to go between the output of the last effect and the output of the unit.

It will only work if you are using a high impedence mic, but even then not very well.

Use a stompbox, the MXR micro-amp:



(or another mic-preamp) in front of the effect-chain (always switched on) and it will work.
