I tried using these transistors: 2n5089, 2n3904, and 2n2222.
The signal stops at the base of Q2, that is unless I strum REALLY hard and then I get a sharp crackle through.
Must be a mis-bias, huh?

What should I do?

Thanks!

replace all the supply resistors with 25k pots, bias to 1/2 voltage as a starting point.

How are you powering it.  It looks like the schem calls for a single AA battery at 1.5 volts.  You probably would run into issues pumping 9v through it if it.

Bad solder joint.  :)
I was also using 9v, I'm so used to it, didn't even think about using an AA at all.

Sounds great now, nifty circuit.  I have a much bigger output cap on for now, sounds a bit Muffish.  Niiiiice.
It's gonna be a pain to power from 1.5 volts though, unless I work out a way to hold an AAA inside.  I don't think an AA will fit with my stupid box drilling.

Anyways, all for the better, because my piece of perfboard was rather packed.

Cheers!
