Arrrrgh...can't count!!

Ever have one of those days?  Started a vero Phase 90 this morning.  Spent half an hour marking out the trace cuts and verifying I had the correct amount of them.  Spend another 10 minutes with a 5mm drill bit cutting the traces....then start laying out the jumpers.  Get half way across the board and realize I mismarked a section of cuts. 

Now back to square one....at least it wasn't fully populated!  Just cost me a vero board....

Moral of the story....double check, triple check, and then check again!  Number of cuts as well as location!!

That's what I get for starting a project after a 14hr work day.....

When I'm doing that, I open the image of my layout in PaintShop Pro, mirror the image (like I'm looking at the copper side) and then mark each trace cut with a felt-tip pen.

Put it down, make a cup of tea and then go back and count holes, track by track, from image to board, have a slurp of tea and do it again from board to image.

Moral, measure twice (or three times), cut once.

Shouldnt that be:
"Moral, measure twice (or three times), cut once. Drink tea"?

I had a right game with a vero layout.  I had cut my piece to the right number of holes (18) but when I started marking where to make track cuts. something just wasn't right.  Sure enough the layout I had printed said it was 18 holes, but when I looked again I noticed that it actually ran:
16 17 18 18 18 18 18 18 18

So it should have been 24.  I should have had a few slurps of tea, I think that would have helped.
