A couple of questions before I start a phase 90

I've never tackled a phase before so I have a couple of questions before I start.

1) How many 2N5952's should I buy to be able to find four that match?
2) For the Zener, what wattage rating should I get, I've never done a project that used a zener
3) Are the TL072's you can get at mouser good or do I need some special MOJO TL072?  Anyone have a part number because there are several types.
4) Also, for the TL072 do I want the Dip 8 version?  I believe I do but figured I'd check.

Thanks in advance.

as per my experience, in 20pcs samples i got 2 quads for phase90 and about 3 pairs for phase45.

IIRC, its just the 1watt type, anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

I used TL062.

yup, dip-8 version

hope this helps!

I bought a quad of matched transistors over at banzai, used two for a phase45 (which rocks) and the other two are unused. I figured that was the easiest way to go.

Stock Zener is 3.3V, it sez 'ere. So current through the 10k resistor is 6.7/10000. Multiply by 3.3V and you get 2.2mW dissipated through the Zener.

Not a hell of a lot, then.

Be advised that a lot of the online schems for this pedal have an error in that area of the plan. The ordinary diode (reverse biased) next to the Zener should go direct from +9V to Gnd. Not in parallel with the Zener (ie connected between the 10k resistor and Gnd) as most schems put it. The one at tonepad.com is correct BTW and, since I just took one apart a few weeks ago, I know this to be true.

I wish we had longer to amend replies before that function gets locked...

That should be 5.7V across the 10k resistor, as any fule no...
