Another nice low gain silicon transistor

generally inexpensive, and typical hfe from 75-125 for the hundred or so that i tested.

Also, 2N3903's are nice low gainers.

These are great in 60's style silicon fuzzes.

MPSA42, high voltage. Mine have <hfe>=100. Sounds like 2n3904.

Mr Carrell,  Since I bought the 2n3903 from your advice, I think I should put them in one of your designs.  I wanted to build a VMF but I will take your opinion first, to put them in one of your creations.  Take care for your backache !

Just built a Rangemaster today with 2N3903 and does sound good indeed.
