Rangemaster project problem

I have just finished building a Rangemaster clone and I am having a problem-- any help would be appreciated.  The effect will power on and there is sound- but it is very weak even with the boost turned up full.  Any ideas of where to start?

  Yes...at the debugging page.
  This shows how to debug circuits, and the info you gather can be used to analyze the problem.
  Voltage measurements [including 'battery] always help.
  Could be a 180'd transistor, loose wire, polarity reversal, stray connection..any 1 or more of many other things.
