hi guys-
i'd like to try 2 OC140 npn germs in my neg ground fuzz face build ..
any of you in the uk have a couple of spares in the right gain/leakage range?
i can swap you a pair of vintage bc108 and a bc109c if that suits.. [ they sound good and i have a few of them spare to keep for alternating in the fuzz face between germ and silicon ]
please let me know or pm me.
many thanks - rob

Iron Code Monkey

Small Bear has a few of these left in stock, but they're $10 a piece.

Try here;

they might have some other NPN Ge transistors. I have bought off them in the past,

or try your luck with a russian batch of ge npns at $30 for 100

nobody is likely to trade in ge's for si's, no matter how vintage they are.
you could also try the piggybacking transistors technique developed by brett here on the forum.

good luck with your project

Don't know if you still need them, but I can supply NOS AC127's for £1 each plus P&P, which is the price I pay for them. Failing, that I could trade for some Neovibe LDR's.

Or build the absolutely fabulous sounding AXIS Face with the low HFE silicon trannies BD139s and MPS2369A.

You may get over your Germanium cravings...it sounds suberb.

As it happens I am. In fact, I grew up in Nuneaton, near good old Cov ;)
I used to drive my old Lambretta to Maplin to get parts for my pedals, before online ordering that is. I think of all the stores i've been in, that had THE worst staff!
