PX'd as part of my Bill Nash Tele purchase, I had it for a very long time but can't remember the
last time I used it !!  ......http://www.pbase.com/martymart/nash_tele

It sucks trading/selling gear, but the rule of thumb that I've decided on is, if it's not being used
then someone else will hopefully get some use out of it and put it towards an item that you need.

Silly to feel sad about a piece of hardware ...... but ........

Feel for you Marty.... gear partum anxiety, know it well.

Every time I have let something great go, it has been to replace it with something I wanted, and would really use..*
I'm sure you considered it well and are going to get great use from the Tele.
Ask yourself....would you trade the Tele right now, if someone was offering you the exact same deal? Cherry CE-1 and some cash?

Once saw this great Chinese guy with a stall at a group garage sale. Some prick was pushing him over the price of an item. He just laughed and went with the deal. Really calm person. A friend was saying to him 'that was your xxxx you've had it for years'. He just breezed off with " yeah, it was mine for a while'. I kind of got the idea that that was his attitude in general. I may have been projecting upon him, but I assumed there was some Buddist philosophy in action there. I always remember that guy, so calm about 'stuff'. Especially if I have an anal anxiety attack about the new scratch/scuff on old number one.

Just stuff. Tools to make music with.

* DM-100 and Bronco not included due to extreme poverty at the time. Ah the pain... no, promised self would not think about them ...hey it's only been 20 years...

MartyMart

Thanks for the support Toney, I like that Chinese guy's attitude and you're right it's just "stuff"
Why do we get so wrapped up in our "posessions"  ??
I just know that in two months time, someone's going to ask me in the studio " do you have that CE-1, really need it on this track ? " !!!!

Well you do have DIY skills!
I reckon, sooner or later you'll be able to build a clone. There was a thread started proposing the idea recently.
New caps, clean fresh build, perhaps deal with the input overloading.

Beyond my scope or motivation...not really a chorus-lover.

Can you make a Tele?  :icon_biggrin:

MartyMart

Well, I have the Tonepad CE-2 with vibrato mod and "mix" so that's quite close :D
The new little Behringer VB-2 clone is also superb .....

Well, i'm not sure i'd have been able to let it go, had it been mine, but I applaud your decision.
I don't even like the CE, either one or two or whatever, my Supervibe is way better anyway. I say take some time, and build a Dimension chorus. That'll make you wonder what all the fuss was about anyway ;)

do you miss the tone or the fact that it was an original CE?

i agree that if you are not using it then pass it along :D someone else can have some fun with it.

start playing with your new guitar bro! it looks fantastic.

I just miss the fact that i've had it "forever" .... like almost since it was new ... :-(
Still, it will get a good new home and it had that overloading issue anyways ...

I went through the same mixed feelings when I let my '65 Jaguar go--it is so cool and special, on the one hand, but I hadn't played it in forever, so off it went, and it was the right decision. It's good for the soul to let stuff go from time to time, I think, so you rmember that it is just stuff (like th Chinese guy, above). Anyway, enjoy the Tele.
