Hey all,
I have a question. I just finished breadboarding a fat boostered, and I am having some problems. I plugged my iPod into the input of the effect and was able to get sound out of my amp, but none of the pots seemed to change the sound. Then i plugged my guitar into the input and there was no sound at all. I'm assuming because the iPod is active and already has some sort of amp, that's the reason i got signal. As for the knobs not affecting anything, I didn't have any battery clips available, so the effect is being powered by a wall wart. The tip of the input jack is being used for signal and i plugged the ring into ground since I'm not using it right now. Could that be why the signal is bypassing the pots, and essentially the whole circuit?

I think the you're probably correct that what you're getting is the Ipod bypassing the effect.
Why?
I wish I could tell you, I have no idea though.  :icon_confused:

How do you tell if you've blown a JFET?

I think they can go either full on/short or off.
