Mini-Blender with charge pump bipolar supply, does this look right?

Okay, i want to box a pos. ground fuzz face in a box with a blender (it's for a bass player) and the mini-blender circuit is neg ground. so, i want to utilize the bipolar power supply method at GEO to supply the different voltages. would this work and does this PCB look right? i have it wired as R.G. says to switch with the ring of the input jack.

sorry for the double bump, but i really want to get some opinions!

Hi, I didn't have time to look your layout over, but I've thought of how nice it would be to have a clean blend with an old school fuzz, one obstacle is that you want to connect it directly to the guitar to get the tone right (buffer's seem to squash the fuzz's input), but if you tap the input off the front of the fuzz, it sounds pretty gross, from whatever the fuzz is doing to the guitar.  It loads the guitar down and makes it dark, and there is distortion leaking through.  Though, who knows, the high end in the fuzz may more than make up for the high end loss in the clean, and the distortion getting mixed into the clean input would blend with the real fuzz.  Also is the fuzz face output in phase or out of phase with the input?

well, the buffer part should take care of the impedance problem. i believe also that the blend signals are in phase.

Why positive ground? Your FF has a JFET and a silicon tranny.

I'm not real sure what you are asking Ben. The positive ground is for if you wanted to run a pos ground fuzz face in the blend. the blender is neg ground, so the charge pump provides the neg ground for the FF circuit. it's for people that realize that neg ground fuzz faces are not worth the effort (oscillation, motorboating, etc) :)

Oops, sorry, I didn't look at the layout that carefully--I thought it included a FET/BJT FF variation. Never mind.  :icon_redface:

this is an extremely old thread...sorry, but i have the same issue. can a charge pump be added to this? thanks

do you mean another charge pump? there is already one in the layout...

ppatchmods

no...i mean did it work? i can't find anymore info on this. thanks

bump this one more time. the wire that goes to the "ring" of the input show it connected to the tip. the pedal i'm modding doesn't have a trs...do i need to replace it or is this a typo? thanks
