hi,
im going to save my pennies and buy parts to build the lxh2 marshall simulating preamp.

are there any suggestions/warnings or additional info that you guys may want to tell me?

i cant imagine why few people attempt to build this.
i understand the cost and complexity of the circuitry. i dont think "complex" is the right word.
the circuit is pretty straightforward if you look at it. maybe, a bit "intricate" because of the number of components.
but if its going to closely mimic the sound of a sealed 4x12, and a quad of EL34[or 6550!] tubes, why not?
or maybe because you cant fit it in a stompbox?

im gonna try to put a zener or led clipper in there instead of 1N4148/914's...
Look at it this way- everyone rags on air guitar here because everyone can play guitar.  If we were on a lawn mower forum, air guitar would be okay and they would ridicule air mowing.

Just build it as is.You could leave off the all the speaker sym filters like I did and just use the tone stack, it sounds great with no further modifications. Use an maxim 1044 charge pump for the + - power. Go to geofex and you will find how to connect the charge pump up. Besides that you can buy tlo82 at radio shack ,and build one section at atime and check it as you go along. It saves on a lot of troubleshooting. Then when your done your done. What a great sounding circuit! By the way I built an 8 band EQ [ELLIOT SOUND PRODUCTS} to sort of mimic the speaker syms and I use it after the lxh.
