onboard active schematic for single pickup bass guitar

Does anybody know where I could a tried and tested active schematic specifically designed for bass guitar eg low distortion an equalisation suited to bass range? perf board layout would help if there is a diy version

http://happybob.com/rstrand/status100.gif -- I don't know if this is tested. For a single pickup delete the mixing section, as hown.

http://www.albertkreuzer.com/preamp_onboard.htm -- this has been made by a number of people, not least the author. For a single pickup, just delete the second input and pot.

The Kreuzer is really a 2-stage-w/eq variation on this: http://www.till.com/articles/GuitarPreamp/.  While desiged for guitar, it should work fine for bass, but without any eq.

There is also the Clarifier in Anderton's Projects for Guitarists. I also recall a discussion around here of someone having reverse-egineered a Bartolini on-board preamp for bass, with schematic. Use the search function.

There was also a big thread about he Music Man preamp a while back that had a schem, and there's a kinda crappy vero layout for it in my gallery.

If you build it, let me know so I can mark it verified.
